The initial consultation is to establish your needs and to look at the site for your garden. You will be asked about your personal, family and lifestyle needs: what you will use the garden for, how much time you spend in it and how much maintenance you wish to engage in. We will look at the constraints of the site, its location, aspect, slope, size, shape and soil quality.

This meeting assists in clarifying your own vision and concept but will not provide any specific design ideas as this needs careful planning and visualisation. Overall indicative costs will be discussed to ensure your concept fits within your budget limitations

Following the initial consultation you will receive a copy of the discussion in report format for you to confirm and a Fee Estimate for the full design element of the garden project.

The Fee Estimate will cover:

•  Site Survey

•  Photographing existing layout and plants

•  Design Concept and discussion

•  Finished Design drawings and specifications

There is no obligation to proceed past this point if you do not wish to do so.

How much does a Garden Design cost?

The initial consultation and report will cost in total $135 (including GST). All ongoing work is on an hourly rate basis which will be detailed in the Fee Estimate.

How do I know that I will like the garden?

This is why it is imperative for you to be involved in the concept stage of the design. All your ideas are considered and discussed and ways to use the space to its best potential. The final drawings are not started until you are completely happy with the design.

Can the garden be built in stages?

Yes. This is the beauty of having a design to work to. It can be completed in the time frame of your choosing and when completed will achieve a cohesive result.
